North Grenville is already a caring community. Compassionate North Grenville builds on that strength by bringing people, organizations and communities together to make compassion part of everyday life.
We are part of the international Compassionate Communities movement, a community approach that recognizes caring for one another, particularly through illness, caregiving, dying and grief, as something we all have a role in.
Compassion is a community responsibility. It belongs to all of us.

Our mission is to foster a compassionate and inclusive community that embraces the full journey of life, illness, death, caring and bereavement. We are dedicated to helping normalize and destigmatize these universal experiences through sharing stories.

Our Charter sets out aspirations for how compassion can become part of everyday community life across North Grenville, in the places where we live, work, learn, gather and care for one another.
That includes building compassionate practices in schools and workplaces, engaging faith communities, using arts and storytelling, creating opportunities for remembrance, strengthening our relationship with the Municipality, supporting community-led activities, and continuing to grow the reach of compassion throughout North Grenville.
FROM ASPIRATION TO ACTION
A compassionate community isn't built by one organization. It grows through the actions of people, neighbours, businesses, organizations and community partners.
Across North Grenville, that can mean sharing stories, starting conversations, learning together, remembering people we've lost, building partnerships and finding new ways to care for one another.
OUR STEERING COMMITTEE
Compassionate North Grenville is guided by a volunteer Steering Committee whose members bring knowledge, experience, community connections and a shared commitment to the movement.
Membership is open to people who live, work, play or have connections within North Grenville.

Compassionate Community North Grenville operates on the territory of the Anishnabek. We recognize all First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples who now call North Grenville their home. We respect and support the need for cultivating a strong relationship, and we commit to Indigenous-informed decision making to foster the path towards reconciliation.
